Cerumen is the medical term for ear wax. It is completely normal to have some wax in your ears as it can trap dust and dirt and has bacteriostatic properties. Ear wax ususally breaks down without you noticing and works its way out of your canals. However, everyone has varying levels of wax build-up and if it becomes too excessive, it can cause hearing loss, discomfort and sometimes vertigo. Urgent/short notice appointments are available.
